It's as simple as just having an opinion to begin with. If you have a firm stance about something then others will undoubtedly disagree with you. Not being afraid to share your opinion on your blog is, to me, step 1. People who are too scared to take a stance on their blog really don't understand the medium. And people who write "controversial posts" for the traffic instead of the message ... well they just don't get it either. For a post about controversy, this is about as uncontroversial as it gets :)
