I’m sure you are familiar with the saying “jack of all trades, master of
none?” Stated differently, we can say that a person who focuses on many things won’t be good at any of them.
An entrepreneur who blindly markets his product, service or website on the internet is courting a general audience. This can be disastrous.
A general audience might be too big for you. Your attention and resources will be divided.
Furthermore, a general audience, considering its size and potential, will
attract a lot of other businesses. Businesses will mean competition for you. A lot of competition will make it difficult for you to position yourself in the market.
What you should do is to narrow down the broad subject matter into
something smaller, something more specific, something more focused.
Dogs? No
Dog training? Possibly.
Labrador dog training? Perfect!
You have found a niche! You can now concentrate on this niche and build your store around this market.

But most important & obvious reason of people leaving the business is that they can\’t persevere till they succeed as it ain\’t that overnight kinda thing some people make it look like. What would you say, Dave?
