Top 13 Websites for Article Syndication and Content Promotion

Posted on August 16, 2008 by Roy Affiliate Marketing, Promotion 4 Comments

Article syndication (or article marketing) is very popular among small business owners and affiliate marketers. In addition, this is a great technique to get your pages indexed fast apart from getting lots of incoming links. Sometimes webmasters assign specific budget too for this sort of content promotion and these is an important part of their online marketing mix.

However, I prefer to break them in two sections:

  1. Article only for Syndication: these articles are ideally around 450 to 500 words long and these articles are written to be syndicated in different article directories. You do not need to worry about uniqueness of these articles - simply write an article and submit it in as many article directories as you want. However, if you are looking for better ROI, you should submit them into those directories that offer you better amount of syndication. My top ten list in this section is: Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Buzzle, Isnare, Idea Marketers, Article Dashboard, Promotion World, Article Dashboard, Article Alley and Amazines.
  2. Article for readers: The first set of article is typically submitted for links - if you get visitors from those articles, consider it is as bonus (however, sometimes these articles rank high for long tail keywords.). In second set of articles, you actually communicate with real people. Here I am talking about articles that you write and submit for websites like Hub Pages, Helium, Squidoo. Tough in first set of content you do not need to be unique, in case of the second set, you should act more sensibly and provide well-packaged and quality content. Ideally, an article for any of these websites should be around 600 to 700 words with added modules like video, feed etc.

Both sections are  great for affiliate marketers if they can embed the affiliate link in the first paragraph (a lot of websites often syndicate the first paragraph of the article and leave a link to the original article for the rest). However, in many cases, the syndicators strip off all the outgoing links but the link to the original source (article directory). You get a link if you have good luck.

So, write at least three articles and submit one article to at least 5 directories of section 1 and submit others in any 2 sites of section 2.

Hmmmm. Looks like a nice list you got there. I’ve never actually submitted any of my articles for syndication before. Might as well get started today.
