Review: TNX.net, a Text Link Service with a Different Spin

Looking to buy links? TNX.net is a new website offering text links for advertisers and money for publishers willing to sell text links.
Many of you will compare TNX.net to Text Link Ads or TLA, the most popular text link service. I think TNX.net has some better benefits and features.
If you’re an advertiser, you can buy whatever type of links you want based on PageRank, Yahoo backlinks count, and niche. You can also set the anchor text for the links. TNX.net will then search their inventory for pages with your desired characteristics and add your links to those pages. Right now, TNX.net has over 31 million pages in their database, so the selection should be pretty good. With TNX.net, you can get a bunch of links very quickly without having to manually select sites and pages where you want your links. In contrast, you have to manually select sites when buying links at TLA.
Because of the way TNX.net sets up its code, search engines cannot track its links. However, TLA requires its webmasters to upload XML code which can be easily tracked by search engines. Also, TNX.net keeps its inventory private while TLA’s inventory is somewhat public (you get screenshots and site name but not URL). Because of these measures, TNX.net helps publishers and advertisers. Webmasters don’t have to fear about being penalized by Google for selling links and advertisers can have confidence that their links are being counted by Google.
For publishers, TNX charges just 12.5% in commission while TLA charges 50%. There is an affiliate program that allows you to get 13.3% lifetime commission for the publishers you refer. Also, TNX.net has a special offer for publishers at Digital Point forums. If your site gets approved, they will add 5,000 TNX points to your account.
I know I’ve had only good words to say so far, but there is a couple things I don’t like. I spent 30 minutes trying to install the code on two of my blogs but I couldn’t get it to work. TNX.net definitely needs a tutorial for Wordpress users on how to install their php code. Also, they use a points system that can be turned into cash. The points system is confusing and unclear. I wish they would’ve just used cash.
I don’t plan on trying this service as an advertiser, because I don’t like buying monthly links. I like buying permanent links instead. However, if you’re looking to rent links and want a TLA alternative, check out TNX.net.

Sure. TNX.net looks like a good way to monetize a site. To earn more, you need traffic, good PageRank, or both.
Interesting, but Google has said they track based on link text also. Lots of links that say “free online games”, then you probably bought them. I’m sure the algorithm is more complicated than that. The other thing I would love to see is the option to have paid links with nofollow. Of course, these would cost less, but would be an option to publishers. So the publisher isn’t penalized, and neither is the advertiser.
Good point about varying your anchor text. It looks more natural and you’ll actually rank for more phrases.
Sounds like a possible alternative to TLA. Since we are running a WordPress blog, the installation issues that you bring up are troublesome. Ah, the joys of a site in Beta!
It also doesn’t do any good if the publishers are also a part of the TLA network. If a site gets flagged for selling links it doesn’t matter if the advertiser came from TLA or TNX. It’s risky business either way. I’d rather know what site my link is going to be placed on before paying. Atleast this way I can do some link value and link risk evaluations.
I’ll continue to do my link building manually and behind the scenes.
Why would anyone buy links? I can write them myself. I know HTML. Maybe this is for people who don’t no how to rite code?
I think you misunderstood. TNX.net is about buying links on other people websites. The links point to your site. This increases traffic and search engine rankings.

Yes, TNX is a good way for link building.
I used it before and got good results.
But yeh, never monetized from them. :D
I’ve used TNX before, but I removed it from my site in 1 month time. Currently I use TNX for link building only
TNX.net is an excellent program. Another similar program worth considering is Etology. I’ve been using this service for a few months now and so far I’m quite happy with the results. I haven’t had a chance to advertise with this system yet, but as a publisher I love the freedom to sell ad space based on my own prices.
