Hubpages is definitely the next Squidoo-like site that is set to take the online marketing world by storm. In spite of the fact that only around 15,000 hub pages exists today and that most hubbers are not even that experienced in taking advantage of long-tail keywords, their pages still keeps in popping up into the first several pages of Google search results.
But it is not only their “search engine friendliness” that makes Hub Pages so attractive to marketers because they also allow the use of affiliate links. In addition, they even have a more generous payment system compared to Squidoo; their affiliate programs let you get lifetime commission from the income of your recruited hubbers.
You will also get paid every time you drive traffic to another person’s hubpage and the same is true when they drive people to your page. With this kind of revenue-share strategy where each marketer works to promote the other, you can definitely expect that Hubpages will enjoy a long lasting reputation as a premier affiliate marketing resource.
And unlike Squidoo wherein most of the “niches” are already dominated by a select few, hot niches are still wide open in Hubpages. Marketers just need to find out the right combination for their long tail keywords and tags.

And here’s a pretty positive viewpoint from a pretty savvy marketing blog.
Hub Pages: An Alternative to Squidoo?……
Hubpages do rank well in google as well as in yahoo . I have a few hubs there and without promoting much , I have already received some decent traffic from search engines.
I need more coffee. I typed the year in wrong. Yaaaawwn.
My personal experience with HubPages vs. Squidoo pages is that I seem to get more traffic from my Squidoo lenses.
I have done nothing much with either since Google slapped Squidoo and my income dropped through the floor there.
Then I just got busy with other things and didn’t really think about them until I saw your post.
So for not doing much of anything Squidoo is still sending me more traffic.
Google has now slapped Hubpages now and allot of affiliate hubs are being banned or shout down for having affiliate links in them. So I’d stay clear of hubs if you just gonna use them for profit.
To tell you all the truth, I don’t really know whats happening with all these new promote your content/write for a living sites. Most of them don’t get enough coverage, don’t really pay you on time or enough or eventually get shut down or banned from search engines. For the past few months I’ve been using one particular publishing network who’s name I will not bring up so that people here will actually take me seriously. The work that I publish gets great coverage and I actually made a few green ones. I write because I love it, when squidoo and hubpages start giving me these weird excuses that only beginners can make up, It kinda puts me down. For the time being I’m more than satisfied with the successful network I’m using, but I am always open minded for new ones. If any of you have any recommendations, I’m all ears!
