StumbleUpon is the easiest social media site to get a lot of traffic because they don't have a "front page" system. Most of the other sites require you to get a good number of votes to hit the front page. If you don't hit the front page, you get little to no traffic. StumbleUpon is different. Even if you have a few votes on StumbleUpon, you still get a lot of traffic. Most of this info has come from research and observing successful social media users. In my experience, I get more votes when I participate in the social media community. However, I have not hit the front page. Actually, I have not really tried. I was mostly using the social media sites for free links rather than traffic. I may sound like a hypocrite since I haven't hit the front page. I'm designating August as a time for me to learn how to do it. It's only recently that I've realized the power of social media. I really believe the making the front page on social sites is <a href="http://www.netbusinessblog.com/2007/07/22/the-power-of-social-media/" rel="nofollow">the best method for getting traffic, exposure, branding and links</a>. Matt, the founder of this blog, got <a href="http://www.netbusinessblog.com/2007/04/17/how-to-get-digg-frontpaged/" rel="nofollow">multiple Digg front page stories</a> that drove traffic to this blog.
