AWeber Integrates with FeedBurner!

AWeber Communications, a leading provider of email marketing software for small businesses and bloggers have just announced that their Blog Broadcast RSS-to-email tool will now integrate into FeedBurner’s RSS tracking and publishing service.
I’m a big fan of AWeber and this news makes me happy as I already know how important it is to track and monitor my email subscribers (something I haven’t been doing with Feedburner) this positive step forward will make things easy for me to track my email subscribers and have far better control on how I contact them.
The basis of this, is that it will enable more options and tools to track, trace and contact your blog subscribers. Offering far more tools than Feedburner currently did with their email subscription set-up. This has opened up another idea for me as I’m going to start offering mini business case studies just for my email subscribers. I can write these mini courses in advance using the AWeber queing tool which will send these emails out daily, weekly or monthly.

Bloggers and podcasters that already use Feedbuner and AWeber to communicate with their audiences will see a jump in the number of subscribers that display on Google-owned FeedBurner’s popular subscriber ‘chicklets.’ These chicklets, which show how many people regularly follow a blog or podcast, provide visitors and potential advertisers with an indication of the blog’s popularity.
“The more subscribers you can boast, the more likely new visitors are to subscribe to your blog, and the more likely companies are to want to advertise on your blog.”
AWeber will report email subscribers to FeedBurner for bloggers using AWeber’s Blog Broadcast tool to convert their blog’s RSS feed to an email newsletter. Bloggers and podcasters collect email subscribers for their blog newsletter through a simple signup form that they create using AWeber and place on their blogs.
FeedBurner will include AWeber email subscribers in their reporting, making it easy for bloggers to see what percentage of their readers follows their blog by email. AWeber expects that seeing those subscribers side-by-side in their FeedBurner accounts will be an eye-opening experience for many bloggers.
Justin Premick, Education Marketing Manager at AWeber states:
“As great a technology as RSS is, it’s simply not as widely understood and used as email is,” Premick added. “The most popular blogs know this, and offer readers the choice to subscribe by email or RSS.” “We hope this feature shows bloggers and podcasters the value of email subscribers, getting them to embrace both email and RSS as an effective way to build relationships with their audiences.”

MySpace to Open Doors to Developers

Facebook Developers, Internet Marketers, Online Entrepreneurs get ready for some more traffic as MySpace is opening its doors to software developers allowing them to create games and media-sharing applications.
MySpace are going to formally launch their “Developer Platform” next week, but are already allowing Developers to sign up now. The tools have been developed with Google and will allow programmers to create programs similar to those used by millions on rival site Facebook.

The success of Facebook Apps has obviously got MySpace guys thinking its time to let Developers in, with nearly 15,000 applications already written for the site its got to be a positive move. Despite FaceBooks popularity it still lags behind MySpace in terms of overall users.
MySpace has around 200 million registered users, compared to 63 million who use Facebook. MySpace was bought by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp for $580m in 2005. Last October it announced that it would join OpenSocial, Google’s platform designed to allow developers to build applications that will work on any website. (Snippet courtesy of BBC NEWS)
The tools which should be available from 5 February 2008 will allow developers to build applications that make use of the MySpace member profile. Amit Kapur the CTO of MySpace has stated developers will also be able to make money out of their applications.
I should hope so too!

Warning over Rootkit Virus that exploits your hard drive by trying to overwrite a part of the Master Boot Record (MBR).
AuctionAds integrates with ShoppingAds - this network never converted well on this blog so I removed it. I might trial their code again but I’m not that motivated to do so yet.
Had some amazing emails this month but this one goes down as the best - the following incident you’re about to read is Fact, if you are of a squeamish nature please look away!

Wanted to update you all on whats been happening at NBB.
Blog still needs some attention - I’m not keen on the logo (bit cheesy really) so that is going to be re-designed along with other creatives (banners). Thinking of getting a quote from David Airey. (he might contact me once he see’s this link in his stats)
Archives are still being fixed along with some coding issues (getting there though)
Not sure if any regulars would have noticed but we are on a new server (London UK DataCentre) and no longer with Hostgator. It’s lightening fast for me, hope it is for all of you? I will plug the guys who look after my servers soon as they are very good!

Competitions are not working out? Do you guys think I need to do Contests / Competitions. I may remove it and focus on content instead of promotional gifts? Feedback on this would be good…
More Affiliates have been signing up to our Affiliate Program which is a good sign, need more to do so though. You can read about our Affiliate Program Here. We basically pay you to send traffic our way - as simple as that!
I’m settling into the new design now and will over the next few months I’m sure, tweak some things. NetBusinessBlog has made no Revenue since August last year, I’m pleased to announce this has all changed since the inception of the new design which I knew would improve Advertising and traffic. Not only that but I am now actively promoting NBB on Digg, Forums etc..I am also taking a concious decision with a little push from SelfMadeChick to make sure I comment on more blogs in my niche.
Going to continue on with my Case Studies and will be looking to take a new writer on, to cover other subjects I haven’t got time to research and write about. In other words, stuff I’m not good enough to write about…
Now to get on with creating more great (readable) Articles for you…
Almost forgot, we are always looking for great Guest Posts. If you think you’re good and want to promote something or yourself within a well writen Aticle you can do so here Guest Articles

Kontera who I use on this blog, are offering a limited time sign up deal for new publishers. I like them so far and I am Making reasonable money, need more impressions to be honest.
If you’re not sure who Kontera are, they offer content links within any website, this allows you to utilise your great content with an added revenue source that is very unobtrusive for your website or blog. I prefer Kontera to Google Adsense having not used Adsense for a long time on this blog.
Kontera use contextually relevant keywords that are discovered in real-time on a web page from within Kontera´s vast network of publishers, which automatically turn a link into the most relevant ad from amongst Kontera´s thousands of advertisers.

With ContentLink™ publishers generate incremental revenue while advertisers reach their most targeted audience on a Cost-Per-Click basis.
Give them a try…

Selling Facebook Application “Drinks” $9500

I thought I’d offer my facebook application “Drinks” to one of NBBs readers before I put it on Sitepoint.
Application Name - Drinks

Current Stats and Valuation This values the app at over $13k but I’m pricing to sell so I’m going to let this great little app go at a good price. It’s ready to be monetised and should take upto $10 per 1000 impressions. You don’t need a developer to run this application. It is very easy to add drinks (no coding required) and I will tell you exactly how to do it.
Details:
- 26,693 users & counting! / 300-500 daily active users.
- The App is written in PHP/FBML (the facebook html markup).
- Add drinks via PhpMyAdmin (simple)
- To advertise on the app you only need to adjust the index.php file with your ad code.
- You need your own host to host this app (as it does not sit on Facebooks Hosting) I can help you with this.
The best ad network right now in terms of Revenue is VideoEgg but there are others like, Cubics.com, fbExchange.com and Lookery.com.
“They are testing various price points, but the low end seems to be around $0.30 for each user they sell to another application, and they believe they can get as much as $1 over time. The effective CPM (or revenue per 1,000 pages) is a “multiple of $20? he says. This make them possibly the first Facebook application to have found a real way to monetize users and pageviews”
Source: TechCrunch
Facebook applications are extremely valuable because of extremely targeted advertisements. The owner of the application knows his visitor’s Network (City, Collage, etc), age, sex, relationship status and more!
Because of time and other business interests, I have to sell this app for funding. Payment is accepted in the form of PayPal and Escrow.
If you’re interested, just leave a comment and I will get back to you.

For All You Non-Techies: $10/Year For a Wordpress Hosted Blog

One of the things that keeps people from being as effective and efficient as they could be in blogging is a lack of technical skills. Some of you may be like me. I don’t have much technical and programming skills. It took me awhile to learn tasks like installing Wordpress or modifying themes.
It would’ve been great to see a service like this back when I was starting to build Wordpress blogs a couple months ago.
TechBurgh has teamed up with Tubu Internet Solutions to create a new hosting service where you can get hosting for a Wordpress blog on your own domain for $10 a year. This is a great price for someone looking to start blogging without dealing with the technical hassles.
Even if you have a blog already, you might have a friend that wants to start blogging but doesn’t want to use free blog hosting (like blogger.com and wordpress.com).
TechBurgh’s hosting service is a great way for that friend to start blogging. They can use their own domain name. They can monetize their blog any way they want. They can use any Wordpress theme. They don’t have to learn how to install Wordpress. Also, the people at TechBurgh and Tubu Internet Solutions can help them learn how to use Wordpress.
What will your get for $10 a year? You’ll get a 200mb disk space and 10 gigabytes of bandwidth. This is more than enough for new bloggers.
For more information about this offer, click here.

John Chow Has A New Blog Design

Try copying John Chow now :)
John Chow recently got a new blog design. The design was done by Nate Whitehill of Unique Blog Design. I like Nate’s stuff. His designs are clean without being boring. And he offers great pricing: $599 for a complete blog design. That’s a great deal in my book. Anyways, here’s a look at John Chow’s new blog.
Pretty, huh?
He’s still got the sports car. The new design is wider, which allows him more monetization opportunities. Above the fold, he’s added a section for popular articles and a newsletter.
I’m not a designer, but I think this new design looks much better than the old one. The old theme looked boring. Plus, every other internet marketing blogger was using it to copy John.
It’s interesting to note that Nate Whitehill was the one who approached John about doing the new blog design. Here’s what John wrote:
Nate came to me with the idea of doing a new theme a week ago. I told him to do up a rough and if I like what I see, we’ll continue. As you can guess, I liked what I saw.
This is a great example of selling yourself and your skills. Good job, Nate. By landing John Chow, you should be getting a lot more work. And congrats to John. Enjoy your new blog.
What do you think of the new theme?
Million Dollar Homepage + Wikipedia = Million Dollar Wiki

I just read an interesting post from John Chow about The Million Dollar Wiki. What’s this wiki all about? Basically, it’s Million Dollar Homepage meets Wikipedia.
Graham Langdon, the creator, is selling wiki pages for $100 each. The $100 is a one time payment to own a page for at least 15 years. He hopes to sell 10,000 pages, which would earn him a million dollars.
His wiki is starting to grow virally. Check out his traffic. I think John Chow’s post helped a lot. When John Chow blogged about him, he had sold less than 160 pages. Two days after John’s post, he sold 70 pages.
Will It Be Successful?
I think Graham’s wiki will be successful. Here are 7 reasons why.
1. If 10,000 pages are sold, Graham is allowing the page owners the right to resell their pages. I think many people will buy a page out of speculation that it will be worth something in the future.
2. There’s a sense of urgency to buy a page with a relevant keyword before anyone else. Unlike the pixels of The Million Dollar Home Page, page URLs are distinct. This is similar to buying a premium domain name like business.com or cars.com.
3. The pages are flexible. You can add images, video, RSS feeds, and flash. You can even monetize them with Google AdSense and relevant ads.
4. Graham has good content guidelines. He doesn’t allow irrelevant content, porn, offensive content, and keyword spam.
5. $100 is not too expensive for many people. When you think about it, $100 for 15 years is under $7 a year.
6. Graham has done some marketing by sending out press releases. He plans to release a marketing video on YouTube and other online video sites.
7. John Chow vouched for him. That has to be good for something.
What do you think of The Million Dollar Wiki? Do you think it will earn a million dollars?
