I have just come away from one of the forums I frequent. It all started a few months ago when I decided I wanted to do something I presumed was a fairly simple procedure.

For business and personal reasons I wanted to do a simple “username” change at the very popular DigitalPoint forums. (I don’t fancy linking to them really)

It was like I was being held to ransom, what the hell is going on in this online world!!? With feable excuses as, “it slows the forum down” “the forum will crash” “we would lose money doing a username change” My eyes are still sore after they rolled out of my head when a Moderator sent me this Private Message, and I quote -

“Your only option for having info removed from DP is to serve the owner of this forum with a court order”

What more can I say…this online world has gone slighty crazy!

My name is Dee. Adie brought me on as a new blogger.

I’m fairly new in the internet marketing world - less than 2 years experience. I freelance as an SEO and write for another SEO blog. Also, I have an interesting gig where I build Squidoo lenses for people. (If you don’t Squidoo, you need to. Google loves Squidoo.) I’m in the middle of writing a short ebook on long-tail keyword research. I don’t think I’ll finish it soon though. I have too many things going on right now.

I’m an SEO and internet marketing junkie/addict, which means I work way too much but love every minute of it. Well, except when I get headaches because I’ve been staring at the computer screen for over 8 hours straight. But really, I love being a webmaster. I read SEO blogs for fun. I have a social life at Digital Point. I dream about PR 7 backlinks, the Netscape front page, and $5 quality ghostwriters.

Working online is like The Matrix for me. I’m plugged into the internet (aka the Matrix) and don’t know how to get out. I don’t know if that’s a good thing. Passion is good for bloggers, right? But I am trying to be more balanced - exercise, offline social life, eat.

What’s the difference between a dentist, doctor and a blogger? we all get paid roughly the same income (one the apprenticeship has been served) we all help and improve our visitors life’s, so why is it then that doctor’s and dentists don’t get negative comments!

Its a trust thing…

Everyone loves a doctor, whatever they say you listen too and you never judge his/hers comments and opinions towards your health. The same exists with a dentist, some people are so scared of them that once they have their work done they never question or make a comment about the quality of their teeth even if the job is done to an unsatisfactory standard.

This is because they’re helping us with our health and our life in some respect. They both make us get and feel better about ourselves.

They can do no wrong in a high percentage of societies opinions. Why is not not the same then for a blogger? We help and improve peoples life’s in some way…yes? so why is it that we get the most grief and highly opinionated users/visitors?

I should have become a doctor, but then I’d have to deal with hypercondriacs and that would have driven me insane!

I’ve just worked it out…it’s because they don’t have a comment plugin at the surgery right?

I’ve only just heard of John Chow through purchasing this site and the fantastic viral marketing he has done with the whole “Make Money Online” keyword(s). What I have found aparant is that he has people who obviously love him (maybe too much) and have taken on his whole business model. After scanning around I’ve found a lot of look-a-like John Chow’s.

So…this is the thing. Can anyone tell me how many bloggers have completely copied John Chows blog, marketing, hair cut, clothing etc..etc..

Can you find more? I’m offering a bounty of $50 to someone who can find the most look-a-likes of his blog.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this new … “reality” sensation The Next Internet Millionaire, then you’re one of the lucky ones. The premise behind the show (is it a show or a vlog thing or wtf?) is basically The Apprentice but set in the world of the internet. I don’t like it. Then again I hate reality TV and snake oil salesmen, so what do I know? Anyways, I found this video curteousy of WickedFire that I just had to share. Enjoy!

I just saw this video over at Jane’s blog - it’s an Oprah version of the Googleplex. I wonder how many invalid clicks paid for all of their pool tables and workout rooms? I’m guessing 356,798. That’s just a ballpark though.

I saw this video posted over at Kineda and thought it was the most unique boob advertising I’ve seen in a while. Good stuff.
